Dr. Bill is the founder of ASL University or Lifeprint which is an online resource site for sign language students, teachers, interpreters, and parents of Deaf children. Dr. Vicars has served as Coordinator of the California State University Sacramento Deaf Studies program where he currently teaches as a full-time tenured full-Professor.

The “Signs” channel is an American Sign Language (ASL) database or “sign bank” by Dr. Bill Vicars. The purpose of the database is to augment or support Lifeprint and other ASLU-related sites, channels, or resources.

Instead of learning out of context from a database – it is much better to learn sign language by interacting with socially active native Deaf adult skilled signers using a curriculum.

A published author in the Gallaudet University Press research journal "Sign Language Studies", she is hearing and has over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring ASL.

She is a certified Educational Interpreter with more than 20 years of experience. She would also like to add a personal touch by conducting interviews with other interpreters, teachers, and former students. She holds a B.A. in Deaf Studies with a concentration in pre-Deaf Ed. from California State University Northridge, an M.Ed. from Georgian Court University, and she completed the Interpreter Training Program at Ocean County College, earning certification as an Educational Interpreter.

Sign With Courtney is an ASL learning resource to support you on your adventure in ASL. Courtney is an ASL interpreter (VRS and VRI) and ASL professor. She has been teaching since 2009 and loves supporting students, especially those going into the interpreting field or those learning ASL for loved ones.
